Neanderthal 1856-2006

Despite the fact that only 16 of his bones were collected in August 1856, the Neanderthal is probably the most famous celebrity from the Rhineland.
This volume reports on the newly discovered finds from the excavations in 1997 and 2000. The original skeleton from 1856 was also analyzed using new methods and researching in new directions. Since 1991, Ralf W. Schmitz has put together an international team of experts. Thanks to his initiative, the Neanderthal research has got new impulses.
